Announcing the StatusGator API v3

We’re excited to introduce StatusGator API v3, the biggest update yet to our developer platform. This release is built on modern standards, offers a richer data model, and unlocks powerful new endpoints designed to help you integrate StatusGator more deeply into your workflows.

Note: Access in v3 is now managed per organization, not just per board. Only org admins, not users with editor access, will have access to create v3 API tokens.

The API v2 will eventually be deprecated and eventually stop working. To ensure uninterrupted access, we encourage everyone to migrate to our API v3.

Modern documentation, built on OpenAPI

API v3 is fully documented with the OpenAPI standard, making it easier than ever to explore endpoints, understand request/response structures, and generate client libraries in your favorite programming language. Whether you’re using Python, JavaScript, Ruby, or Go, the tools you need are at your fingertips.

A richer data model

We’ve restructured our responses to deliver more information in a cleaner, more consistent format. This richer data model gives you better context about services, incidents, monitors, and boards — making it simpler to consume and integrate into your own systems.

More endpoints, more power

API v3 expands what’s possible with dozens of new and improved endpoints:

  • Website and Ping Monitors: Create and manage monitors programmatically.
  • User Management: List users in your account, making administration easier.
  • Board Information: List your boards and fetch detailed board data.
  • Incidents: Create and resolve incidents via the API.
  • Static IPs: Programmatically pull the static IPs we use to monitor your websites so you can easily whitelist them.

These additions open the door to tighter integrations, better automation, and more advanced use cases.

Accessing the API

Org admins can create API tokens directly from the menu item on StatusGator dashboard. Simply navigate to the API section in the main left-hand navigation. From there, you can generate and manage API tokens tied to your organization. These tokens allow you to authenticate requests and securely integrate StatusGator into your systems.

Built for what’s next

API v3 isn’t just a refresh — it’s a foundation. We have a lot more coming soon, including additional endpoints, enhanced filtering and querying, and new capabilities to help you streamline monitoring and status management across your stack.

Get started today

You can dive into the API v3 documentation right now. The OpenAPI spec makes it easy to explore and even auto-generate client SDKs.

We can’t wait to see what you build with API v3.
