Good news – Early Warning Signals are now available in Google Chat! This means you’ll get real-time alerts about possible outages—before providers officially acknowledge them—delivered right where your team is already chatting and collaborating.
What this means for your team
If your workflows happen in Google Chat, you’re in luck. Early Warning Signals are now embedded directly in your chat, delivering instant visibility into potential incidents—without needing to switch tools.

How it works
Our smart detection algorithm analyzes system anomalies, user reports, and traffic patterns to spot early signs of service disruptions. When something looks off—even before the provider updates their status page—you’ll receive a signal in Google Chat. It’s that simple.
Things you can do with it
- Act fast: Got alerted before an outage? You can prompt a quick response or workaround—before it becomes a crisis.
- Stay informed: Get unified visibility across your apps, services, and chat platform—now, right from Google Chat.
- Control notification settings: Early Warning Signals are enabled by default. If you’d rather only receive official updates, disable them per monitor or across your board.
How to manage settings
Early Warning Signals are enabled by default, so you’ll begin receiving these alerts automatically. If you’d like to review settings, you can:
- For a single monitor: Head to that monitor’s Settings → Notifications tab and toggle Early Warning Signals.
- Globally for your entire board: Go to Board Settings → Monitor Notifications to enable or disable these alerts for all monitors.
