SMS alerts enabled for Early Warning Signals

When service disruptions happen, every second counts. That’s why we’re excited to announce a major update to StatusGator: Early Warning Signals are now available via SMS.

Early Warning Signals have already been helping teams stay ahead of outages via email and Slack alerts — and now, with SMS support, you can get real-time notifications directly on your phone, even before incidents are publicly acknowledged. It’s the fastest way to stay informed and take action, no matter where you are.

What are Early Warning Signals?

StatusGator’s Early Warning Signals give you a critical edge during outages. These intelligent alerts are triggered by indirect indicators of trouble — before providers update their public status pages.

Early Warning Signals watches the signs: API degradation, monitoring anomalies, customer complaints, and metadata inconsistencies. When patterns emerge, it notifies you before things go fully offline — giving your team a head start to mitigate, reroute, or communicate.

How to activate SMS alerts

It’s easy to enable SMS support if you’re already using Early Warning Signals:

  1. Open your integrations page in the StatusGator board.
  2. Add phone numbers for key recipients.
  3. Test and confirm delivery.

With SMS support for early warning signals, you’re not just reacting — you’re anticipating.

This update is now available on all paid plans. If you’re not yet using SMS integration, now is the perfect time to explore the future of outage detection.

Coming soon: EWS for Teams, Google Chat, and more

We’re actively working on bringing Early Warning Signals to Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, and other popular chat integrations. These upcoming enhancements will ensure alerts reach your team wherever they collaborate — keeping you connected and prepared, in real time.
