StatusGator is Unaffected by the Vercel April 2026 Security Incident

Vercel recently disclosed a security incident that occurred in April 2026. You can review their post for the full report, which is being updated regularly.

We take incidents like this seriously, especially when they occur at third-party providers we use. After carefully reviewing Vercel’s disclosure and auditing our own systems, we can confidently state that StatusGator is not impacted by this incident.

How StatusGator Uses Vercel

StatusGator uses Vercel strictly as a CDN and edge caching layer for our public status pages.

  • We do not store any secrets in Vercel
  • We do not process or persist customer data in Vercel
  • Vercel acts only as a proxy and caching layer for status pages

Our application and API, statusgator.com, is hosted elsewhere. There is no risk of exposure because there is nothing to expose. This architecture guarantees that even in the event of a compromise at Vercel, there is no access to sensitive systems or data.

No Risk to Customer Data

Based on both Vercel’s report and our internal review:

  • There is zero risk to customer data
  • There is no pathway for an attacker to access StatusGator systems
  • There is no ability for any Vercel-related exposure to read or extract StatusGator data

All sensitive operations, data storage, and authentication systems are completely isolated from Vercel.

Review of OAuth App Exposure

As part of this incident, Vercel disclosed an adjacent issue involving a malicious or compromised OAuth application.

We performed an audit of our Google Workspace environment and can confirm:

  • This OAuth app has never been installed
  • There has been no unauthorized access via Google integrations

Our Approach to Security

As a SOC 2 Type II compliant company, we have defined process for responding to these. We quickly investigated this incident and will continue to follow it. As always, we continuously audit all dependencies and integrations and improve security posture as needed.

Summary

StatusGator and its customers were not impacted by the Vercel April 2026 security incident. If you have any questions, please reach out to us.
