StatusGator Women in Tech Scholarship is back!

Last year, we tried something new.

We created the StatusGator Women in Tech Scholarship to support one student taking her first step into the tech world. We didn’t know exactly what to expect.

What we got back was… a lot bigger than we imagined.

Hundreds of applications. Thoughtful essays. Ambitious ideas. Real stories about why technology matters – not just as a career, but as a tool for change.

So we’re doing it again.

Same mission, bigger commitment

This year, we’re not just bringing the scholarship back – we’re doubling it.

👉 The award is now $3,000 (up from $1,500 last year).

That increase reflects something simple: last year made it clear this matters.

There’s no shortage of talented, driven young women ready to build in tech. What’s often missing is support, encouragement, and access at the right moment.

We want to be part of providing that.

Why this exists

At StatusGator, we spend our time building tools that help people make sense of complex systems – status pages, outages, reliability.

But behind all of that is a bigger belief: technology shapes how the world works.

And who builds that technology matters.

More perspectives → better decisions
More voices → better products
More access → better outcomes

Supporting women entering tech isn’t a side initiative for us. It’s aligned with the kind of ecosystem we want to be part of.

A quick look back

Our first recipient set the tone for what this scholarship is all about.

She wasn’t just interested in technology – she had a clear vision for using it to solve real-world problems. In her case, applying AI to detect landmines and improve safety in her home country.

That combination – technical curiosity + real-world impact – is exactly what we hope to see again this year.

About the 2026 scholarship

We’ve partnered again with Bold.org to host applications and manage the process. Apply here.

Who it’s for:

  • Female-identifying high school seniors
  • Planning to pursue a tech-related degree

What we’re looking for:

Not perfect resumes.

We’re looking for:

  • curiosity
  • persistence
  • a point of view
  • and a sense of where you want to go

Tell us what pulled you into tech – and what you want to do with it.

Want to support the scholarship?

One thing we learned last year is that this mission resonates beyond our team.

If you’d like to contribute to the scholarship fund, you can do so directly through the Bold.org page. Contributions go toward supporting the next generation of women entering tech – and help us continue growing this program over time.

Help us reach the right people

If you’re reading this, you probably know someone who should apply.

A student. A sibling. A friend. Someone who’s always been “the tech person” in the room but hasn’t fully seen what that could become yet.

Send this their way.

Last year showed us how much talent is out there. The goal this year is simple: reach even more of it.

This is just the beginning

We don’t think of this as a one-time program.

We’re building it the same way we build our product – iteratively.

Last year: launch it
This year: grow it
Next year: we’ll see how much further we can take it

Because creating opportunities shouldn’t be a one-off effort.

And if doubling the scholarship helps even one more person take that next step – it’s worth it.
