IMPORTANT INFORMATION for Canvas LTI 1.1 Instructors – Connect Integration Due to a security breach incident on Canvas/Instructure's end on April 30th, enhanced security measures were introduced by Canvas that impacted the LTI 1.1 integration between Canvas and McGraw Hill platforms. You can view Canvas's status update here: https://status.instructure.com/. Following McGraw Hill's latest release, you may experience one of two scenarios: Scenario 1 – Authorization prompt appears immediately: You may see an "Authorize" message from Canvas when accessing your course. This is expected. You will only need to authorize once per course. After authorizing, we recommend performing a manual grade sync to ensure grades begin flowing. Once completed, the "Authorize" screen will no longer appear for that course and grades will sync automatically as students complete their work. Scenario 2 – Authorization prompt does not appear right away: If you do not see the "Authorize" message, please revisit your course after 1 hour and click "Sync with my Connect section." You may see an error — this is expected. After that, click the McGraw-Hill link in the left navigation, and the "Authorize" screen should appear. It is important that you authorize the token for each course to ensure our fix works correctly. These steps are necessary due to enhanced security measures Canvas introduced following last week's incident. WHAT OUR FIX DOES: After a one-time authorization per course, grades and data will flow seamlessly between Connect and Canvas without requiring you to re-authorize every hour. For SIMnet and ALEKS Users: We are actively working on an identical solution for Canvas LTI 1.1 SIMnet instructors and Canvas LTI 1.0 Classic ALEKS instructors. We expect to provide an update by May 6th and appreciate your continued patience.
