April product updates

April was packed with updates, and we’ve got plenty to share! You may have noticed numerous enhancements to StatusGator throughout the month. Let’s take a moment to recap what’s new.

Product updates sidebar is here!

StatusGator is moving fast and investing heavily in our product. Staying informed about the latest tweaks and improvements just got a whole lot easier. Our new sidebar feature puts all the updates right at your fingertips, so you can stay in the know without breaking a sweat.

We’ve also made it simpler than ever to suggest new features or vote on existing ones. Just submit a ticket in the product updates sidebar, and give us your suggestion. We really love to hear what you have to say — everything we’ve built over the past 10 years has been based on your feedback.

Integration management improvements

To streamline the process of suggesting new integrations, we’ve introduced an Integration Request Form. Simply click on the “Request” button to open a form where you can submit your ideas directly inside StatusGator.

You’ll also notice small count tags next to each integration category. As our directory of integrations is growing rapidly, it’s become necessary to clarify which integrations are configured. The count you’ll see behind each category is the number of integrations you have installed and active (unpaused) for each category.

Webex intregration

Introducing the latest addition to our ever-expanding family of chat integrations: Webex. You asked for it, and we’ve delivered! If your team relies on Webex as one of its primary communication channels, you can now seamlessly connect StatusGator to your Webex account.

TV integration – introducing Light mode

We just launched a new feature requested by some users: a light mode for our TV integration. As a reminder, the TV integration is a specially-formatted version of your status page designed to display on a TV.

The new light mode is a useful addition that can enhance the readability of your status page on large screens in certain lighting conditions. Or, if you rotate your display with several other screens which have similar light styles, you can now enjoy a better level of consistency across screens.

Switching to Light Mode is easy. Navigate to the Integration settings, select the Light Mode option, copy the updated URL, paste it into your system, and you are good to go.

Iframe integration – meet Dark mode

Meet another update for our Iframe integration! With dark mode for Iframe integration, you now have the flexibility to ensure that your embedded status pages align perfectly with the aesthetic of your website or portal and that your text is readable. The design continues to have a transparent background, meaning the background color of your page will be reflected behind your monitor list. But, the text colors and styles will change to reflect the mode you choose.

StatusGator reports are now open for all plans!

Exciting news! The StatusGator Reports page is now accessible to all plans. If you haven’t already explored it, now’s the time! Discover various report types including:

  • Board History Report: Lists all incidents affecting your monitors within a specific time frame.
  • All Status Changes: Provides a raw list of changes to your monitors’ status, detailing transitions and summary information.
  • Component Status Pages: Tracks changes to individual components on your monitors, not just the overall status.
  • Component Summary: Offers outage summary information for each component of your monitors, including duration in the warn or down state.

If you require a different type of report, request it here.

Now in the API: Website monitor configurations

As you may know, StatusGator has two monitor types at present: Cloud service monitors and website monitors. Our website monitor feature allows a myriad of sophisticated configuration options including interval config, HTTP methods, and content or status checks.

We’ve just launched some important improvements to our API for those of you using website monitors. Our Service show endpoint will now include configuration details for those monitors that are website monitors under a new key called config. Simply call the endpoint with a GET request:

/dashboards/{dashboard_token}/services/{service_slug}

You can find the official API documentation for this endpoint in our API Docs.

As always, get ready for more updates next month! We’re always working to make StatusGator even better, thanks to your suggestions. Keep sharing your ideas. Should you need any assistance or wish to request a feature, our team is here.

Thank you for choosing StatusGator!
