Frequently Asked Questions
What’s a monitor?
A monitor is an item on your status page. StatusGator supports two types of monitors: Service Monitors and Website Monitors. Service Monitors check the status of cloud services and hosted applications using their status pages. Website Monitors monitor the status of any website by checking its uptime.
What’s the difference between a dashboard and a status page?
A dashboard is a set of monitors and its associated integrations. Each dashboard can have a single status page. Many StatusGator customers prefer to segment their monitors either by team, by department, or use-case. By separating services into multiple dashboards, you can publish a separate status page for each or integrate with different systems. For example, two dashboards could send notifications to two different Slack rooms.
What counts as a user?
Users are those that sign into StatusGator to administer your account: Configure monitors, set up integrations, tweak filters, create your status page, manage billing — anything required to configure and manage your StatusGator account. A User account is not needed to view a status page or use an integration such as Slack.
