Current status: We're continuing our efforts on a long term solution to clean up the remaining duplicate contacts which will be available closer to the end of June. In the interim, affected users can follow the steps provided in the linked article to manually remove the duplicate contacts.

Current status: We've successfully developed and implemented a long-term fix for the contact auto-sync process, restoring its expected functionality without the need to maintain our prior configuration change. We're still working on cleaning up the remaining duplicate contacts, which may take a few more weeks to fully complete. In the interim, affected users can follow the steps provided in the linked article to manually remove the duplicate contacts.

More info: This issue will only impact users who sync their contacts with Microsoft Teams. Users can self mitigate this impact by turning off the sync functionality.
Current status: We've received reports where Outlook.com users who sync their contact lists with Microsoft Teams are seeing unexpected. We're making a configuration change to stop the creation of these duplicate contacts and we'll have a timeline for remediation by our next communications update.
