Current CDC Service DWDM/Wavelength status is UP

One of our third-party providers has advised that they need to perform maintenance between Telehouse North (THN) and Maidstone (CDC) which will have an impact our Dark Fibre link from Telehouse North (THN) to Maidstone (CDC).

This maintenance is to be considered as "affected – outage expected".

[Layer-3 IP Transit Services] Our core IP Transit network automatically re-routes all protected services when a fibre break is detected and brings the failed fibre back into service only once it has been stable and error free for a period of time. As such, all Layer-3 services will have possible path switches at start and end of this work, depending on destination path selected, with potential changes in latency to some destinations, no significant disruption is expected to any IPT services at any location.

[Layer-2 MPLS/VPLS Services] Standard Ethernet Services which have a path between THN<->CDC will experience an outage. Protected Ethernet Services which have a path between THN<->CDC may see a switch/re-route during this work; no significant disruption is expected. Diverse Ethernet Services which include a path between THN<->CDC may see the loss of one member; no parallel outages of both feeds are expected.

[Wavelength Services] Services between THN<->CDC may experience an outage.

Due to this, we are not expecting any impact to our services but will be considering services via GOS AT RISK for the duration of this window.

Services traversing GOS,SOV,MER,GS2,THN should be considered at risk for the time being. Direct services from CDC to THN and from CDC to GOS are not impacted by this event.

The provider has been contacted to find out what is the fault between the two sites. Updates will follow as investigations with the provider progress. We will strive to keep customer impact to a minimum as always. This is being tracked under [CDC-ID: #243150]
