At 10:55 Custodian's monitoring systems detected a dark fibre loss between Maidstone and Goswell Road.
Services quickly restored back to their normal level after the event and we are investigating the fault with the provider.

Direct services from Maidstone to THN should be considered at risk for the time being.

Services traversing GOS,SOV,MER,GS2,THN. And services direct services from Maidstone to GOS are not impacted by this event.

The provider has been contacted to find out if there are to be any further outages between the two sites and what the root cause of this outage was. Updates will follow as investigations with the provider progress. We will strive to keep customer impact to a minimum as always. This is being tracked under [CDC-ID: # 248547]

UK Power Networks will be performing Essential maintenance on all three of our on-site substations at our Maidstone Data Centre.

This necessitates the isolation of all grid supplies to the Data Centre for up to a 12-hour period.

We will be transferring load to our resilient on-site generator farms prior to the works and remaining on this until we have confirmation that works have been completed, and we are confident the returned supply is healthy. Therefore, although minimal, customers should consider both power feeds to be “at-risk” during the period detailed above.

We have been advised by Lumen engineers at Goswell Road that they will be performing emergency maintenance on one of the power feeds supplying our racks.

This event has been scheduled as at risk due to Lumen needing to turn one of the power feeds off to complete their maintenance window.

Custodian has two independently fed feeds to our racks at GOS in addition to our own UPS systems. We expect services to continue to run off the remaining live feed, however if an outage occurs on both feeds and exceeds our UPS run time to any given rack then services traversing GOS may suffer an outage.

We have detected a loss of power at Maidstone (ME14) at 09:26 today. Our power has switched over to our onsite generators which are feeding the DC as expected.

UK Power Networks are aware of the issue and are investigating.

Services at, or traversing, CDC in Maidstone (ME14) are to be considered at-risk.
