Details

What are we changing?Reload all IBM Kubernetes Service Cluster Workers in Db2onCloud clusters to 1.17.17_1551 level. https://cloud.ibm.com/docs/containers?topic=containers-changelog#11717_1551Why are we making this change?Per security compliance, update all IBM Kubernetes Service Cluster Workers in Db2onCloud clusters to latest supported level of 1.17.17_1551 level. https://cloud.ibm.com/docs/containers?topic=containers-changelog#11717_1551How will it impact the environment?System orchestration software updates will take place between 2021/02/18 to 2021/03/12 for Db2 on Cloud Standard and Enterprise plans. An updated Kubernetes version  will be deployed to Db2 on Cloud Kubernetes nodes during this period. Db2 on Cloud instances will be restarted in order to complete the update. Db2 on Cloud Standard and Enterprise plans with High Availability option will not experience interruptions as long as Automatic Client Reroute (ACR) is properly configured. Please see our documentation for details on setting up ACR: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSEPGG_10.1.0/com.ibm.db2.luw.admin.ha.doc/doc/r0011978.html.Db2 on Cloud Standard and Enterprise plans without High Availability option will experience a 15 minutes interruption on one of the days within the update period. The 15 minute interruption will happen during local time of the instance's IBM Cloud region per below maintenance windows.

Only Instance in regions us-south and cluster bpe60pbd01oinge4psd0 will be updated between 2021/02/18 to 2021/03/12.
Customer service instance accessing bpe60pbd01oinge4psd0.db2.cloud.ibm.com or bpe60pbd01oinge4psd0.*.databases.appdomain.cloud will be impacted.  Only instances that are selected by the update automation will be impacted during one of the days of maintenance duration. All other Db2 on Cloud plans that are not included in this update and will not experience any interruption.
