O365 #EXT# External Users Syncing to Customer Portal

Details

Identified - Upcoming sync change to the Customer Portal:Any external "placeholder" user accounts created by Microsoft from your O365 tenant will no longer sync to the Zix/Appriver Customer Portal. These are external "placeholder" user accounts listed with the following unique format – example user - msallmen_example.com#EXT#@jackyandpeaches.onmicrosoft.comQ: What are these external user accounts for?A: When an active O365 user shares data externally with an external user, for example a SharePoint site, once the external user accesses the shared data, Microsoft will automatically create an external "placeholder" account in the O365 tenant user list for that external user.Once created, the account would sync over to the Zix/Appriver Customer Portal as unlicensed. If you selected the user from the Customer Portal, you would receive an error message. This is because these users do not have any options or settings available to manage from the Customer Portal. If you need to view or manage external users, please log into the O365 admin center to access the account from the O365 tenant user list.  Apr 15, 2024 - 09:39 CDT

About Our AppRiver Customer Portal Status Page Integration

Over the past almost 4 years, we have collected data on on more than 697 outages that affected AppRiver Customer Portal users. When AppRiver Customer Portal publishes downtime on their status page, they do so across 25 components and 7 groups using 4 different statuses: up, warn, down, and maintenance which we use to provide granular uptime metrics and notifications.

Many StatusGator users monitor AppRiver Customer Portal to get notified when it's down, is under maintenance, or has an outage. This makes it one of the most popular productivity services monitored on our platform. We've sent more than 1,000 notifications to our users about AppRiver Customer Portal incidents, providing transparency and peace of mind. You can get alerts by signing up for a free StatusGator account.

If AppRiver Customer Portal is having system outages or experiencing other critical issues, red down notifications appear on the status page. In most cases, it means that core functions are not working properly, or there is some other serious customer-impacting event underway.

Warn notifications are used when AppRiver Customer Portal is undergoing a non-critical issue like minor service issues, performance degradation, non-core bugs, capacity issues, or problems affecting a small number of users.

AppRiver Customer Portal posts separate notifications for planned maintenance work. StatusGator will notify subscribers when AppRiver Customer Portal enters a pre-planned maintenance window, keeping you up to date.

Since AppRiver Customer Portal publishes a feed of proactive maintenance events on their status page, StatusGator will collect information about these events. Maintenance events for all your services can be viewed within StatusGator as a unified feed.

When AppRiver Customer Portal posts issues on their status page, we collect the main headline message and include that brief information or overview in notifications to StatusGator subscribers.

When AppRiver Customer Portal has outages or other service-impacting events on their status page, we pull down the detailed informational updates and include them in notifications. These messages often include the current details about how the problem is being mitigated, or when the next update will occur.

Because AppRiver Customer Portal has several components, each with their individual statuses, StatusGator can differentiate the status of each component in our notifications to you. This means, you can filter your status page notifications based on the services, regions, or components you utilize. This is an essential feature for complex services with many components or services spread out across many regions.
