    Key features

    • Real-time alerts in from 7,420+ services: Get instant, automated outage notifications from third-party services delivered directly to your chosen Slack channels.
    • On-demand status checks: Use the StatusGator Slack bot to check the current status of any monitored service without leaving Slack. No need to switch tabs or manually refresh status pages.
    • Early Warning Signals: Detect potential service disruptions even before the official status pages say so. StatusGator aggregates user reports and warning signs so you can be among the first to know.
    • Noise-free notifications: Send alerts only to the right Slack channels and teams. Customize by components, regions, or severity level to keep focus and avoid alert fatigue.
    • Unified status page inside Slack: Access all your monitors and boards from the Home tab in Slack. Keep your entire team aligned with a single view of your IT ecosystem.
    • Issue reporting & team signals: Report service issues not yet confirmed on status pages and gather upvotes from teammates. This helps validate the scope of an outage and improves internal incident awareness.

    What triggers messages in Slack

StatusGator posts a message to your chosen Slack channel whenever any of the following events occur for a service you monitor:

    • Status change — when the status of your monitor changes from up to warn, down, or maintenance and when it changes back to up.
    • Early Warning Signal — when StatusGator detects signs of a potential disruption before the provider has updated their official status page.

Each StatusGator board can be connected to one Slack channel. If you’d like to send updates to a different Slack channel (for example, for another team or department), simply create an additional board and connect it to the channel of your choice.

    Slash command

Any team member can type /statusgator [service name] in any Slack channel to run an on-demand status check. The bot responds with the current status of the matching service. If multiple services match, it presents a list to select from.

    Shortcuts

Two shortcuts are available from the Slack shortcuts menu:

    • Check status — opens a modal to search for and view the current status of any monitored service.
    • Report outage — opens a modal to report an issue with a specific service.

    Interactive messages

Messages posted by the bot include action buttons your team can interact with:

    • Early Warning Signal alerts — include Yes/No buttons so teammates can confirm or dismiss whether they are experiencing the potential disruption. Vote counts update in the message in real time.
    • Issue reports — include an Upvote button so teammates can signal that they are also affected, helping gauge the scope of an incident.

    App Home tab

The StatusGator App Home tab in Slack displays a built-in aggregated status page for your team, showing all monitored services directly in Slack. You can switch between boards and report outages directly from the Home tab without leaving Slack.
