Dynamic Delivery SSAI is experiencing increased latency for VMAP requests in the ANZ region. End users may be experiencing increased buffering at the start of playback. Brightcove Engineering is investigating at the highest priority.

Dynamic Delivery SSAI is experiencing increased latency for VMAP requests in the ANZ region. End users may be experiencing increased buffering at the start of playback. Brightcove Engineering is investigating at the highest priority.

Brightcove Engineering will perform scheduled maintenance tasks to Brightcove's platform infrastructure on Saturday, May 13th, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 1:00 AM (Sunday, May 14th) UTC.

During the maintenance window, Brightcove Engineering will deploy changes to CDN and Brightcove Live infrastructure to optimize the overall performance, security and stability of both live and adaptive bitrate streaming to provide high-quality, secure viewing experiences across a broad variety of network types—fixed and mobile, alike.

Customers may encounter brief delays with the initial commencement of video-on-demand (VOD) playback as requested content is pulled into the new CDN infrastructure. Following the initial request for new content, it will be cached and readily available for subsequent playback requests thereafter, which will perform transparently. The changes will impact only Brightcove publisher accounts that deliver VOD content via EMEA (Dublin) and APAC (Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo) regions.

This effort will not impact customers utilizing their own preferred, non-Brightcove-managed BYO CDN to deliver VOD content.

Brightcove Live streams activated before April 11th, 2023, without reactivation since, will be disconnected and redirected to new streaming workers, updated with the latest security patches. Live streams subject to maintenance may be down for up to ten minutes. Brightcove Live streams that have been started or reactivated since April 11th, 2023, are unaffected. The intended updates include fixes for security vulnerabilities.

In order to minimize any impact and/or downtime, it is recommended that customers with Brightcove Live streams in the aforementioned category stop and restart their stream(s) and encoder(s) as well as deactivate and reactivate the associate Live job(s) before the upcoming May 13th window. Customers can perform the task(s) at a time of their choosing, which will move the stream(s) in question to our most up-to-date systems and workers.

As an added measure, Brightcove Support will shortly create a series of proactive notifications via new support case requests to notify customers with active Live jobs in advance of the window.

Brightcove Engineering will monitor system stability and activity during the maintenance window and will have available resources on standby to mitigate any significant interruptions.
