Details

What are we changing? As part of continuous improvement to the IBM vCloud Director service and product offerings within the IBM vCloud Director platform, IBM Cloud Specialists are planning to reduce IBM vCloud Director database cells to 32GB per VMware guidelines. Why are we making this change? This upgrade is being performed to bring IBM vCloud Director database cells in alignment with VMware recommendations.  After this change is completed, IBM Cloud Specialists will verify the change and prior functionality within the IBM vCloud Director UI. How will it impact the environment?
Management tasks such as creation, deletion, or changes to virtual networks and/or Virtual Machines via the IBM vCloud Director UI will be temporary unavailable during the maintenance window while the reconfiguration takes place, however existing workloads will continue to run and will not be affected.  After the completion of the upgrade, all vCloud Director management functions will once again be operational.

To prevent any delays or failures while creating or provisioning new vApps or VMs, please avoid initiating any request using IBM vCloud Director during the Maintenance Window on May 05 from 17:30 UTC to 19:00 UTC.

As always, if any assistance is needed, please contact IBM Cloud support and we will be happy to assist you or to answer any questions related to this change.
