Dear customer,

We would like to inform you about a planned system upgrade that may affect your use of Zivver.

Date and Time
The upgrade is scheduled for Friday, October 27, 2023. We will commence at 20:00 CEST and aim to be completed by 22:00 CEST at the latest. Please note that we have scheduled a buffer period until 23:00 CEST in case more time is unexpectedly required for the upgrade.

Reason
We are upgrading the version of our database engine. This update is essential to improve the performance and security of our database.

Impact
During the scheduled upgrade period, users of the Webapp and other Zivver clients will not be able to log in. If you use the Zivver SMTP Gateway for email sending, you may temporarily be unable to connect to the SMTP gateway via email clients or automated systems. Depending on the (automation) system used, emails may be returned with an error message. Some email systems will also attempt to resend the emails during a set period.

We understand that this may cause inconvenience and apologize in advance for any disruption. However, this upgrade is crucial to ensure the overall performance and security of Zivver.

Zivver is currently monitoring a potential issue with OWA plugin v4 and v5, in which for some delegated mailboxes, logging in to Zivver fails.
Zivver is proactively investigating which mailboxes could potentially be affected and what the cause of this issue is. Further updates will be posted on zivver.info

Details

We found out that some customers are experiencing trouble logging into the Zivver OWA Add-in. We are looking into the issue and will give an update on this within 1 hour.

As a workaround, we’ve found that all other browsers besides Chrome do not experience this issue. Please be aware that clearing your cookies might provoke the issue in other browsers as well (confirmed in Firefox).

We are experiencing an issue with our Machine Learning Business Rules

Details

We are currently experiencing an issue with a specific type of Business Rule that some customers are using. Namely the ones that use Machine Learning to provide decision support to employees to detect that information is sensitive (‘soft classifiers’), like ‘Medical Sensitive Information’. This results in this type of business rule not being communicated to the end-users properly. Our business rules that detect Social Security Numbers, patiënt numbers, etc (“hard classifiers’), do still work properly.

Although machine learning based classifications are just a tool to assist employees, organizations that use this type of business rule might consider communicating the following message to end-users:
“Some business rules in Zivver are currently not working properly at this moment. This means that you have to be extra aware about whether you are sending out sensitive information and if so, manually activate secure email according to company policy”.
